Topic information:

This session will provide an overview of the legislative system in Canada as it relates to the organisation and funding of rehabilitation services for First Nations children. It will offer insights into how colonial policies continue to shape the organisation, delivery, and accessibility of services for First Nations families. The session will also highlight the importance of clinicians being informed about policies that affect the lives of the families they work with. Emphasis will be placed on how clinicians can best support families and contribute to the provision of culturally responsive and equitable care.
