Oceania Academy Early Career Research Special Interest Group
Join our Early Career Researcher Special Interest Group at the Oceania Academy conference in Hobart on Thursday 5th March from 6-7pm.
This session will be aimed at researchers who are in their final PhD year or within 10 years of completing their PhD, but all will be welcome.
More information to come soon. In the meantime, if you’d like to join our working group, please contact Dr Gaela Kilgour or Dr Lynda McNamara.
Scope: The EMCR group aims to support EMCRs within the Oceania Academy throughout their early research career through providing opportunities for networking, collaboration, mentoring and training- with an emphasis on responsiveness to the needs of the group. The group will be open to Oceania Academy members who are EMCRs.
We define EMCR as:
- Within 10 years (relative to opportunity) of PhD completion.
- Final year of your PhD candidature
The purpose of the EMCR group is to:
- Facilitate networking and collaboration opportunities for EMCRs.
- Organise career and skill development workshops and training, responsive to the needs and preferences of the group.
- Support mentoring opportunities for EMCRs, within and beyond the Academy.
